Honey, Philosophy and RELIGION go hand in hand, not SCIENCE!!!
Science produces data. People interpret that data.
Philosophy is used to piece tha data together and paint a picture. It is used to try and prove Evolution. If it wasn't they would simply have a big pile of Data.
Because the theory of evoluton is so open to interpretation. Unlike other scientific theories that have to prove what they claim. You end up with one of the greatest stories on earth.
Even dating methods have proven to be unreliable. All radiometric dating methods are based on assumptions about events that happened in the past. If the assumptions are accepted as true (as is typically done in the evolutionary dating processes), results can be biased toward a desired age.

As with human technology, which is based upon the very science which you are attempting to naysay, life itself tends to become more complex as one moves upwards through the fossil records.
Human technology has a creator....a mind that creates
stromatolites do not prove that life originated from no life. They simply are what they are.
Heres a quote of a scientific website for you....
One of life's greatest mysteries is how it began. Scientists have pinned it down to roughly this:
Some chemical reactions occurred about 4 billion years ago — perhaps in a primordial tidal soup or maybe with help of volcanoes or possibly at the bottom of the sea or between the mica sheets — to create biology.
Dont you just love the use of the words perhaps, maybe, possibly?
Now scientists have created something in the lab that is tantalizingly close to what might have happened. It's not life, they stress, but it certainly gives the science community a whole new data set to chew on.
hmmmm close but not close enough.....and.........still produced by a scientist in lab....this still proves intelligent design....and again..tantalizingly close....might have happened???
70 million year old blood vessels....who are you trying to kid?
By the way....how did those scientists recreate conditions exactly as they were on earth when they did their laboratory experiment.....were they there? Or is this just another case of maybe this is how it was....but actually we don't really know so we are just making it up to fit in with our theory.
I think that buying into this belief is more of an act of faith than believing in God

Life after death
by truthseeker ineveryone has different views about life after death and whether or not it is a possibility.. as jehovah's witnesses, we were always taught that there is no life after death, that this is the only life we have now and that the wages of sin is death.. .
what are your views on life after death?.

No Nickolas....the context would actully have been...can you prove that fairies don't exist in my garden?
so the question still stands....Can you prove that this isn't a fact?

JAPANS EARTHQUAKE - Aftershock Sequence
by sizemik inbelow is a link to an interactive map of the japanese earthquake and it's aftershock sequence.. there are a number of interactive tools enabling a close examination of what took place .
ie; you can speed up the sequence and select various periods of activity.
you can also pause the sequence and hover the pointer over specific quakes to determine depth, magnitude etc.. the map will open beginning with day one .

Hi ZId,
and almost ALL dinosaurs had PEBBLY-textured skin
Where is your absolute conclusive evidence of this? They have not found skin samples of ALL the dinosaurs. At best, they are just the fossilzed impressions of the skin in rock for very few of them. THat is quite a sweeping statement.
Also, where is the link to connect all these things together to prove that they evolved. There isn't one.
We can all study biased based information that tries to prove one theory for years and years. And in the end, the only thing we can conclude is that we have a really good understanding of their particular teaching.

The Christian Onslaught
by satinka in*sigh* i have been noticing lately there are a number of groups of "christians" signing up as members of this forum, with the obvious agenda of gaining converts for their own cult-like religions.
i have been wondering things like:.
hmmm...maybe i'll try ignoring them.. thank you simon for the space to vent.. satinka.

I don't think you need to apologize tec. It's a free world, and it's only my opinion. Yeah, I know what you mean about the trinity threads. Sometimes I can't resist though. And like I said, I am not 100% sure on the matter (99% maybe hee hee). Sometimes I've just gotta challenge that idea again to make sure I still have good reason to think what I think. And if not, adjust my thinking.....thats why I'm....still thinking.

tec...individually I think everyone here is a lovely person (well almost everyone).
I have agreed and disagreed with everyone at some point. But what is sad is seeing arguments/discussions/debates over Jesus that just go on and on.
I must confess I have leapt into debates on Trinity, only because I want to get a better understanding and want my ideas challenged. By doing this it helps me discover what I really believe. But this thread just seems to be going round and round and round.......it is starting to look more like people just want to be right!
